The School's Founder: Dale Hartley-Brown B.A., L.T.C.L.
Hi, I'm Dale, and through my school I offer a wide range of Performing Arts classes, teaching Acting, Singing and Dance skills including Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Hip Hop to children as well as adults in the Rangiora and North Canterbury area. My school presents two major Children's Theatre Musical Stage shows each year and gives my students a fun, confidence building environment in which to follow their dreams.
I feel strongly about the skill set that performing arts gives it's students, both those who wish to perfom and those who wish to gain life skills. In our new Modern Learning Environments, the ability to speak out, work well with others, and stand out from a crowd are all attributes that are increasingly valuable.
I am glad to offer a place for people to find these strengths.

We ran this popular course again this year. Thanks to our fabulous staff for making it a hit. Many kids who signed up for just one or two days, were on the phone that evening asking to be placed in the remaining days also becuse they had so much fun.
We will definitley be making this a regular feature of our calendar.
Please call or email us to discuss how we can get you or your children involved in performing arts this year. Click on the star below to see what classes we have to offer.

Sadly we have said goodbye to:
Ciaran Searle as a regular tutor. He is staying on to take our Improv Club on Monday nights. Ciaran is now studying full time at the Graduate program for Teachers, we wish him well there, we already know he will be an excellent teacher.
We also say good bye to Roz Ellis. Roz has been cast in Evita which will take up a lot of her time, combined with full time work in Christchurch, this makes teaching for us a bit too tricky. She will stay on as a reliever so you may see her about.
Finally, Bryony Jamison, who returned to us briefly, has the exact same predicament as Roz and so we will only see her in a reliever role in the future.
All three tutors will miss their students and will not be strangers to HSPA despite not being able to commit to regular teaching hours.
But it’s not all bad news because…..!
Nathan Fellows ATCL dip. Nathan is an HSPA graduate, studying Drama and Singing with us for 7yrs and is also currently studying at Teacher’s College. Finally the stars have aligned and his timetables allow him to teach for us again. He will be taking over Roz’s intermediate students on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We also welcome aboard three new Tutors in Training.
Carissa Brant – Teaching Junior Dance and choreographing for Junior Production, Carissa will be well known to you all as Tigerlily, but also as an excellent senior dancer. She is also currently studying her dance qualfications at Jenna McKenzie’s School here in Rangiora as well as sitting her Grade 8 Trinity Speech & Drama with us.
Anna Brandt – Teaching Junior Drama, Anna will be Grade 8 with Trinity College this year and is an advanced senior student of Drama with HSPA. She has played several leading roles for us including Mermaid Queen and Queen Ozma most recently. Anna is also a singer and a dancer of merit!
Elliott Andrews – Teaching Junior Drama, Elliott is also in his senior grades of Trinity College having received top Distinction marks in 2015. He will also be memorable for his roles as Captain Hook and The Cowardly Lion.
Anna and Elliott will be team teaching our Wednesday juniors this term.
Rebecca Au ATCL. Dip, Teaching Dip. – Past tutor and student, Rebecca has been away for four years having children and working as a full time teacher. Now on maternity leave she is keen to return to some part time tutoring with us J Rebecca will relieve for Senior tutors and may pick up regular classes as needed.
