Welcome to HSPA

Now is the time to invest in your child's future.

The School's Founder:  Dale Hartley-Brown B.A., L.T.C.L.

Hi, I'm Dale, and through my school I offer a wide range of Performing Arts classes, teaching Acting, Singing  and Dance skills including Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Hip Hop to children as well as  adults in the Rangiora and North Canterbury area.  My school presents two major Children's Theatre Musical Stage shows each year and gives my students a fun, confidence building environment in which to follow their dreams.
I feel strongly about the skill set that performing arts gives it's students, both those who wish to perfom and those who wish to gain life skills.  In our new Modern Learning Environments, the ability to speak out, work well with others, and stand out from a crowd are all attributes that are increasingly valuable.
I am glad to offer a place for people to find these strengths.

Our students can sit Drama, Speech & Singing exams through Trinity College, London
Our Dance students can sit Levels throught Dance NZ Made.

Sadly we have said goodbye to:

Ciaran Searle as a regular tutor.  He is staying on to take our Improv Club on Monday nights.  Ciaran is now studying full time at the Graduate program for Teachers, we wish him well there, we already know he will be an excellent teacher.

Tegan Patrick,  As a newly qualified secondary teacher, Tegan takes her extensive theatrical and literary knowledge on to greater things.  We will miss her wisdom and fun int he classroom, but wish her well in her career.

But we welcome:

Rebecca Au ATCL. Dip, Teaching Dip. – Past tutor and student, Rebecca has been away for four years having children and working as a full time teacher.  Now on maternity leave she is keen to return to some part time tutoring with us Rebecca will be teaching regular hours this term rather than just relieving for us.

Elizabeth Mullan - ATCL Musical Theatre - Also a past tutor and student.  Lizzie has been overseas teaching performing arts and is glad to be back to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for theatre with us once again.
