Welcome to Term Four everybody!

Welcome to our new students and welcome back to all those returning.  .

No change to class times and days this term unless you have been personally notified or have switched classes.

After two massive productions, our focus returns to skills building and personal growth.  It is time to work on our own abilities and grow as performers and communicators. We hope you enjoy your classes this term!

Congratulations Cast & Crew of

The Wind In the Willows!!

This show was a first for Rachel as director and I’m sure you all agree, she did a fantastic job, as we knew she would.

Rachel, thank you for your care and patience with our youngest performers.

The cast were very busy backstage with many costumes and make up changes.  We are ever so grateful for all of the support we received from parents and senior students, we could not have done it without you all!

Well done to the cast.  The show was a credit to your teamwork and confidence along with your talent.  What a treat for our full houses!.  Keep shining 😊

The Wind in the Willows  DVDs

Are available for $20 each on the portal

This is an excellent idea if you did not get to see either of the shows!

PLEASE NOTE: Recording was taken at the Saturday Morning Show.

Costume Washing

If you took some washing home to do, thank you very much.  Your washing lines will have looked entertaining to your neighbours!  Please just drop this back to Dale at 17 Oakwood Drive once you have had a chance to do it.  You can leave it outside the door if no one is home.  Thanks to those who have already dropped off theirs!

Advanced Senior Specialty Classes

Last week of term we will be offering you guys a set of Mask workshops.  We are currently confirming these exact times.  We will let you know what they are just as soon as we confirm that.  They will be a fun and collaborative way to end your year!

Trinity Speech & Drama Exams & Extra lessons

Those who entered last term are all set to sit their Trinity College exams this term.

There are extra exam sessions for those Junior, Intermediate and senior students (Not Advanced Seniors) who have entered for a Trinity exam.  You will have received an email with the updated times just this last week.

You will receive your exam entry slip via email, please check that the time suits and If there is a problem with the time you have been given you must contact Dale immediately.

DNZM & HSPA Dance Exams and Extra lessons

Those dance students who opted for a HSPA Tap Medal test, or a DNZM Jazz, Hip Hop or Contemporary exam will be sitting these on October 31st and November 10th respectively.  Exact times will be sent out to you in the next week.

A timetable of two extra lessons for dancers sitting exams was circulated last term.  Please be sure to pop those times in your diary or notify us if you are unable to attend these.

Drama, Song & Dance Performance Evenings

In order to ensure we do not run too long at our Xmas Break-Up Recital, we have created an opportunity for Intermediate & Senior students to present their work across three nights.  Put these in your diaries now.  We will promote these again closer to the times.

·         Dance – Tuesday 20th November 7-8pm

Rangiora Santa Parade & Party in the Park

We will be taking part in this again this year and will produce a fun float for you all to be part of.  Please look out for information later in the term regarding volunteering and when you will need to be available on the day.

There will be singing and speaking opportunities for performers in the park after the parade.

This could make an excellent Christmas Present.  Vouchers available on request once a booking is made.

Check our portal soon for the options to book.  Email dale@hspa.co.nz if you want to book early.

Accounts from HSPA

Because we often get folks asking for more detail about their accounts, what charges they have incurred, what they still owe etc, we opt to send you full statements rather than an invoice of what is owing.  This has led to some confusion.

Please note – a statement will list all activity on your account, including what charges have been added and what payments you have made. The important part is right at the bottom where it says what is still owing.  Some of you are super-fast at paying so by the time we send the statements out, you may well owe nothing.

It is our first year using the new system so we apologise for a few muck ups along the way.  We appreciate your feedback on this. For two reasons,

A: so we know when we’ve made an error and

B: so we can look at altering some processes to work better for us and our clients.

We appreciate your patience and feedback on this, we will get it right in the end!

Let us know if you are not returning.

As per our Ts&Cs all enrolments roll over into the next term until the end of the year.  This will happen unless you inform us you are not returning.

What happens if you don’t tell us you are not returning?

We retain your spot and will continue to charge you for the class until you notify us.

If you do not notify us before the enrolments close for the term, you are liable for the entire term fees as we can no longer fill your space with anyone else from the waitlist.

We don’t like disappointing the kids on the waitlists and we know you don’t want to be paying for something you are not going to use.

So please reply to this email to notify us if you are not returning.

You can always remain in the system to be notified about future terms for when you may wish to come back again.

Lost Property

Please check the box in the Waiting Room – this stuff will be donated to charity at the end of the month if left.  There are quite a few good items in there, including some from the Junior Production ate theatre.
